Spring 2 in Reception
Our theme this half term is 'Grow!' We have planted sunflowers.
We started the half term with two theme weeks: Chinese New Year and World Book Day. We loved tasting Chinese food and making our own spring rolls. We read the story of 'The Great Race' and loved painting Chinese numbers. For World Book Day we focussed on the story of 'Where the Wild Things Are.' We painted Wild Things and described them, we made our own Wild Thing biscuits and decorated them and finished with our own wild rumpus!
We had a lovely visit to Harlow Carr Gardens to celebrate the end of our theme. We explored the gardens and learnt about the different plants and how they grow. We have a lovely workshop called 'Colour Crazy' where we explored the colours in the garden then made our own sculptures based on the artist Andy Goldsworthy using what we could find in the woodland. We had a lovely day!
