Toys! Toys! Toys!
This half term year one have been learning all about toys.
We looked at toys from the past, specifically the Victorian era, and explored the similarities and differences with toys today.
We brought our favorite toys from home, played with them, shared them and wrote about them.
Miss Burton found a mysterious suitcase in her attic. Inside there were lots of things including: a dress, veil, dolls, tea set, perfume bottle, whip and top, apron and bonnet. Also there was a letter, diary and pictures. We used al these artefacts to try and figure out who the suitcase belonged to.

For our celebration day we held our very own Victorian School day. We dressed up and took a part in Victorian lessons such as: handwriting, Math, sewing and baking.
The teachers were very strict and if you were bad you had to wear the dunce's hat!
