Can I be a builder?
This half term we have been looking at different landmarks from around the world including: the Eiffel Tower, The Taj Mahal, Stonehenge and The Leaning Tower of Pisa. We looked at where these landmarks are and what they were built with. We then did lots of DT work based on these landmarks.
Have a look at what we've been up to.
We used ArtStraws to make our own versions of the Eiffel Tower. We had to work together to make four legs and then join them together with the crossover sections. We had card, straws, scissors and tape.
We used Lego to make our own versions of the Great Wall of China. We had to think about how we positioned the blocks so that we could make it sturdy. We then tried to make it as long as we could. Table three had the longest wall.
We used clay to make our own versions of Stonehenge. We used cross hatching to join pieces of clay together.
We invited parents to our Celebration Day and we had a fantastic afternoon. We used clay to make the Leaning Tower of Pisa. We had to make it as tall as we could and it had to lean without falling down!
We then used kitchen roll tubes and tape to make our own Marble Run. We had to make it as tall and long as we could. We checked to make sure the marble would run through it without getting stuck.
Megan's Mum also brought us a high visibility jacket each...which we got to keep! Thank you Megan's Mum!
