Summer 1: The Elephant in the Ginnel!

Did you know that a long time ago a runaway circus elephant got stuck in a ginnel in Kippax?

We don't know when, we don't know how, all we know is that it happened and there is a diary extract to prove it.

This theme has focused on the history of the circus including the acts, the people and the ethics.

Have a look below at everything we have been up to.

Dance

We learnt about the life of Mary Brewer who was famous for being a weightlifter and performer.  She also had puppets.  We then created a dance with our partners being a puppet on a string.

Celebration Day

To celebrate our theme we had an afternoon of circus tricks on the field.  We tried hula-hopping, juggling, parachute tricks, balancing and other circus tricks.

We then ate hot dogs.

After this, we had to try and eat doughnuts that were tied onto string.  We were not allowed to use our hands.

Finally, we cream pied Mr Pattison and Mr James.  We then cream pied each other.
