Reception's Living Eggs

Reception have had a very exciting time this week when the eggs they've been incubating hatched and produced lots of fluffy chicks!  Lots of cuddles have been had!  The chicks move on to their forever home this Friday and I know everyone in school will be extremely sad to see them go!

5-a-Side Mini Football Tournament

Mr. Adamson said:

We took two 5 a side football teams up to Austhorpe to play them in a mini-tournament.  A fantastic attitude from all involved on a VERY muddy pitch.

Jayden's team came very close to winning, with Arham being our player of the tournament.  It was the first chance to wear our amazing new kit kindly paid for by KPMG.

Well done to all the team!

The Police visit Reception

Reception had a visit from the Police today!  Not to worry though, no-one was in trouble!  It was all part of their 'People who help us' project.

A busy day for Reception on 29th!

As well as a visit by the Police, Reception parents were invited in to share a special story session with the children.

We shared our key text for this half term Sonya’s Chickens, a wonderful story about how Sonya tended to and cared for her chickens. The children have learnt a lot from Sonya as we have had to help our own chicks to hatch. Then we came down to the classroom so that the children could show their parents our chicks and we shared more learning together through play.

It was a fantastic afternoon, thanks to all that spent it with us. We can’t wait for the next one!

A visit to Year 6 by an ACTUAL Maya archaeologist!

Dr Diane Davies is the only Maya archaeologist in Britain!  And she came to our school.

She was amazing and taught Year 6 all about the Maya.  She  shared photographs of her work in the jungle and told us lots of stories of her close encounters with snakes and scorpions.  It was the best day ever!
